Know what constitutes a balanced marketing strategy.
These days there are a million and one different tools, strategies and tactics in digital marketing. Some people will tell you a particular tactic is going to get you all the business you need, but what works for one business doesn’t always work for another.
When it comes to traffic on your website, there are a few big pieces of the puzzle you cannot ignore:
– Conversion rate optimization (CRO) is extremely important; you want your traffic to turn into paying customers.
– Search Engine Optimization (SEO); you want people to find your website before your competitors.
– User Experience Optimization (UXO); gearing your e-commerce site for ease of use and catered to a customer base.
– Psychological Conversion Tactics; using psychological research to make your customers more likely to shop or feel more comfortable with your establishment. Here is a great Shopify blog on the subject. (Full disclosure, we are partners with Shopify and work with many high-risk Shopify clients to help them accept cards online using for their unique product types.)
There are many more tactics to bear in mind, but you must have a balance of all of these things to some degree. A great article from Kissmetrics we recently found details how CRO and UXO should work in tandem, and to further the premise behind it, how using all of your tools together in an organized way will create synergy within your web-store that could potentially revolutionize the amount of traffic you get to your site.
